ChatGCM Privacy Policy

Guangzhou Jiacheng Information Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”) is responsible for processing personal information for ChatGCM. Contact us at majianning@jiacheng.center. Please read this policy before using the service. The information needed for each feature is described below. Refusing an optional device permission affects only the related feature.

1. Information we process

Before using the app, you choose an age range: under 14, 14–17, or 18 or older. This choice is stored only on your device to determine whether the service is available; the age selection itself is not sent to us. It remains until you choose again, remove the app, or erase the device data. A user on the under-14 screen can choose again.

AI conversations

Text you type, images or files you choose, audio from voice calls, video captured after you turn on the camera during a call, your selected role or scene instructions, and relevant recent conversation context are used to answer questions and generate images or voice responses. Conversation history, roles, and attachments are stored on your device so you can view and continue conversations. What is sent depends on the feature and model you select. Files may first be converted into usable text. Model-generated conversation summaries may also be sent as context for later requests. Please do not submit another person's information without permission.

Images used for image questions, expressions, or hairstyle features may first be uploaded to Alibaba Cloud Object Storage, reviewed, and supplied to the relevant AI service by URL. The storage bucket currently permits a service provider or anyone else holding an image URL to access it. Do not upload sensitive images that you do not want processed this way. Realtime voice sends audio and any image you choose to send to the selected voice model. If you turn on the camera during a realtime call, it continuously captures and sends video to the selected voice model over the live connection for that call. Closing the camera or ending the call stops capture and transmission. The system photo picker gives us access only to images you select, not the rest of your library.

Feedback, security, and purchases

When you use Settings → Feedback, we process the feedback you submit and any contact details you choose to enter to investigate and reply. Contact details are optional. To prevent abuse and diagnose failures, we may process request time, network address, app version, and necessary device and error logs. When you buy or restore Plus through Apple, we process transaction and subscription verification results to provide your entitlement. Apple handles payment; we do not collect your payment card number.

Legacy accounts

The current app does not offer phone-number registration or sign-in. Earlier versions did, and legacy account details or records that must be retained by law may still be processed. Former users can use the contact method below to request access, correction, or deletion. We will verify the request and explain the outcome. This does not mean that the current app requires every user to provide a phone number.

2. Device permissions

PermissionPurpose and timingEffect of turning it off
MicrophoneRequested when you start a realtime voice conversation to send audio to the voice model.Realtime voice is unavailable; text remains available.
CameraRequested when you take a photo or turn on the camera during a realtime call; live video is sent to the selected voice model. You cannot take a photo or send video during a call; other features remain available.
Add PhotosRequested when you save a chat image to the system photo library, only to add that image. You cannot save images to the system photo library; selecting an image with the system photo picker still works.

These permissions are not enabled by default and can be changed in iOS Settings. Selecting an image with the system photo picker does not request photo-library read access; the app receives only the images you choose. Ordinary network requests, diagnostic information, and saving a local file are not separate iOS permission prompts, so they are not listed as system permissions you can switch off.

3. Service providers and international processing

To fulfill a request you initiate, text, audio, live video, images, files, and necessary conversation context may be processed by the selected AI service. Channels that may be enabled include Microsoft Azure, OpenRouter, Cloudflare, Alibaba Cloud, Volcano Engine, Baidu, Zhipu, DeepSeek, and Kimi. Alibaba Cloud also provides image storage and review. The recipient depends on the selected model. Some providers may process data outside China. Before the first send, the app separately explains this and asks for permission to send content to third-party AI services. You may decline or withdraw permission for future sends in Settings → Data Control. A decline prevents new third-party AI requests.

We do not sell your conversation content for advertising. Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we require it to use information for the agreed purpose and apply safeguards. Where applicable law requires separate notice and consent for providing information to another controller, making it public, or transferring it abroad, we will follow those requirements. Legally required disclosures to authorities follow legal process; we do not publish personal information merely because we decide a user has breached our rules.

If a merger, division, dissolution, or bankruptcy results in a transfer of personal information, we will identify the recipient and its contact details and handle any later change in purpose or method as required by law.

4. Retention and deletion

Conversations, roles, and attachments on your device are generally kept until you delete them, uninstall the app, or erase device data. Approved conversation images may be kept long term in Alibaba Cloud Object Storage so past conversations can refer to them; there is no blanket 30-day automatic deletion rule for those images. Images that fail content review are deleted.

Feedback and any contact details you choose to provide are stored in our server database to handle and reply to your request and perform necessary follow-up checks. There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period. The retention period ends when the matter is resolved and no further check is needed, or is determined by a verified deletion request from you and any applicable legal retention requirement. Staff then manually delete or anonymize the record. Uninstalling the app does not delete server records.

Server request and error logs generated for security and troubleshooting are stored in the server's operating environment. There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period. The retention period ends when the related troubleshooting or security review is complete and the log is no longer needed; operations staff then remove it manually. Device logs generated locally while the app runs are managed by iOS and are not automatically uploaded to us by the app. Legacy phone-number account details likewise have no uniform automatic deletion period. We determine when to delete or anonymize them based on whether old accounts and related requests still need to be handled, a verified deletion request, or the end of any applicable legal retention period. All of these cleanup steps currently require manual action.

A provider may retain necessary request logs under its own rules; that is not an automatic deletion period for our app's business data.

You can delete local conversations and custom roles in Settings → Data Control. These actions do not automatically delete copies already sent to providers or every cloud image. To request deletion of cloud information we control, legacy account details, or feedback, email us with enough information to locate and verify the records. Once verified, we will delete or anonymize data no longer needed. Information that must be retained by law is kept only for the required purpose and period, then deleted or anonymized. If immediate deletion is technically infeasible, processing is limited to storage and necessary security protection.

5. Your choices and rights

Using the email below, you can request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold; an explanation of this policy; or withdrawal of consent-based processing. We will verify and handle your request as required by applicable law. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing completed before withdrawal. Use iOS Settings to change device permissions and the app's Settings → Data Control to withdraw permission for future third-party AI sends. The current app has no in-app legacy account deletion control; former users can make a request by email.

6. Children

ChatGCM is currently available only to users aged 14 or older. Users under 14 may not use the service. The app does not currently offer guardian verification, consent, or other dedicated child-protection features. Users aged 14 to 17 should use the service with guardian guidance.

7. Security and changes

We use measures such as access controls and protection in transit and will handle and notify personal information incidents as required by law. If a change of processing purpose, method, or information type requires renewed consent, we will obtain it before continuing the affected processing. We will highlight material policy changes through an appropriate channel; the latest version remains available in the app.

8. Contact us

For privacy questions, complaints, or rights requests, use Settings → Feedback in the app or email majianning@jiacheng.center. We may ask for information needed to verify a particular request, but do not routinely require a copy of your identity card. We will respond as required by law. You may also complain to the relevant authority.
