Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Recording - AI Voice Memos (the “App”) and our obligations to you. Please read them with the Privacy Policy. Available plans, trial eligibility, and prices are shown by the App Store before purchase.
1. Service and license
The App offers recording, playback, import, management, and export. It may also offer real-time transcription, recording transcription, text organization, AI summaries, and iCloud sync when you choose and authorize those features. Some features require a network connection, system permissions, available third-party services, or an active Plus subscription.
Subject to these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on compatible Apple devices you manage, including across your devices with iCloud sync. You may use the App for lawful work, study, and everyday purposes. The license does not transfer ownership of the App's intellectual property.
2. Your recordings and imported content
You retain the rights you lawfully hold in your recordings, imported files, transcripts, and summaries. We process this content only as needed to provide the features you choose. You are responsible for having the right to record, import, transcribe, upload, or share the content and for observing applicable recording, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property laws. Obtain any consent or authorization required when recording other people.
Do not use the App to infringe others' rights, distribute unlawful content, attack the service, or bypass subscription verification. You are responsible for content you choose to export or share and for your choice of recipients.
3. Cloud processing and results
Real-time transcription uses Tencent Cloud. “Generate Transcript” first asks for permission to organize the resulting text with DeepSeek; if you decline, Apple Speech Recognition will not start for that request. If you consent, transcription may use Apple Speech Recognition, and text organization and summaries use DeepSeek through our server. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent, to whom, and how to withdraw permission or request deletion. Declining optional cloud processing does not prevent basic recording or playback.
Automatic transcription and AI summaries can omit, misrecognize, or misunderstand information. Check important information, including meeting notes and action items, against the original recording before relying on it. The App does not replace professional judgment.
4. Plus subscriptions and auto-renewal
The App may offer weekly, monthly, and annual auto-renewing plans. Available plans, prices per period, trials, eligibility, and renewal dates are shown in the App Store purchase flow before you confirm. Apple charges your Apple account only after you approve a purchase. Benefits last for the active subscription period. If you receive a free trial, Apple will charge for the selected plan when the trial ends unless you cancel. Paid subscriptions also renew under Apple's rules until you cancel.
Manage or cancel renewal at Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. Benefits for a paid period generally continue through its end after you cancel, and the plan then stops renewing. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription. To avoid a free trial becoming a paid subscription, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. For other subscriptions, cancel before the next charge according to the deadline Apple shows.
For purchases made through Apple, you can request a refund from Apple. Apple decides eligibility and outcomes under its rules and applicable law. These terms do not limit any statutory refund or other consumer rights you may have.
5. Storage, deletion, and service changes
Recordings can be kept on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, files and metadata can also be stored in your iCloud container. Keep appropriate backups for important content. You can delete recordings in the App or delete local and iCloud recordings in Settings → Data Management. Turning off sync does not automatically delete existing iCloud copies. We may update the App or change online features to fix problems, improve security, or add functions. We will give notice of material changes where required by law. Network, device, Apple, or third-party outages may temporarily affect features. We will take reasonable steps to address issues within our control.
6. Intellectual property and responsibility
Intellectual property in the App, interface, and related marks belongs to us or their lawful owners, excluding recordings and imported content in which you hold rights. You may not unlawfully copy, modify, attack, or interfere with the App or service.
Each party is responsible under applicable law and the facts for harm caused by its breach of these terms or the law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or user rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
7. Minors, changes, and contact
The App is not directed primarily to children. Minors should use cloud audio or text processing with a parent or guardian's consent and guidance. We will update this page if these terms materially change and give additional notice where required by law. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using the relevant service.
